i dont know how comfortable i am about someone covering our songs. the thing is, when you play a cover that no one recognizes, everyone just thinks its an original. play a cover people will recognize, from a band besides erebus, it will save you time learning our shitty songs and the audience will like it more anyway.

i see where youre comming from. nates pretty good about letting everbody know when we're going to play a cover, though. and if history repeats itself we'd only learn like one riff. if nothing else, we could just jam it out at practice like we do with raining blood (cause they're just fun as hell to play). as for saving time...ive already learned a couple for riffs from 'good for nothing', cause i friggin love that song lol.

well, i guess im flattered and all that you want to play our stuff, it just seems a little weird to play an unknown bands song as a cover. everytime you play it, everyone is going to think its yours. the purpose of a cover is to play a song the audience will recognize.
i am opposed to the idea because i dont think that against instinct should perform erebus songs. i work really hard on our songs and i dont want anyone else playing them live. learn it and play it in practice, but i would oppose anyone playing our songs live besides us.

The point of playing a cover can also to be to pay homage to a band that had influence on you. I've seen plenty of bands play announce a cover and then thought "what the hell is this song...I've never heard it before." We're talking about playing a song of ours for 40 people, and if it's around Point, a lot of them have probably heard of us thus serving both purposes of a cover. I think the point of writing music is to get people to listen to it. The more people who get to hear it, the better if you ask me.
